MEMBER NOTES
- Thanks everyone who participated in this summer's Fox Cities Marathon Training Runs held Saturday mornings between May and September. You helped make them a great success. Looking ahead to 2023, we will be continuing to host these runs and are looking for your feedback on how we can make them even better. A survey is being sent out to all members to reflect on how these runs went and to collect your ideas on ways we can improve them. Your comments are welcomed and much appreciated.
- SAVE THE DATE! Our Christmas party is set for Saturday, December 10. Details should be available in the next couple of weeks, we will let you know.
- Pacesetters is looking for a person to be our race discount coordinator. Your role would be to secure discounts from runs/events for our members and validate any discounts that members or race directors would review with you. Once set, you would pass them on to our website coordinator so that they could be posted for our members. An optional additional task would be to review potential discounts with area stores. Please Contact Us if you are interested.
- After our October Fun Run at Pullmans on 10/12 we are hoping to hold one more event yet this year, likely indoor. More info to follow.
SATURDAY TRAINING RUNS - COPPER ROCK
If you are looking for a group to run with, come to the Copper Rock coffee shop on Saturday mornings at 8 am, located at 210 W. College Ave., Appleton. A group of us run from there between October and May, even when it gets cold and/or snowy. It's a great way to motivate yourself to get your miles in during the off season. The routes are in the 4-10 mile range, with several distance options. Some extend it to a half marathon distance. Near mile 4 there is a water stop at the home of one of our generous longtime members, John Ebel. Afterwards, many stop in for a coffee or hot chocolate. Hope to see you there!
2022 FOX CITIES MARATHON WEEKEND RECAP
The Pacesetters once again partnered with the Fox Cities Marathon to bring a wonderful event to life. A significate number of Pacesetters participated in one of the 5 different run options. Pacesetters also volunteered to apply timing tags to all bibs, man the chip check booth at the expo to check chips, promote the club and St joes 5K run/walk. Pacesetters also helped set up the finish line, act as course marshals, assist with clean up and many other things. A hugely successful weekend was the result. Congratulations and thank you to all Pacesetters who participated and volunteered!
