March 2025
READY, SET, GO!!! LOCAL RUNNING OPPORTUNITIES
Well, we are nearly through another winter as the calendar has flipped to March. That means it's time to start up our monthly FUN RUNS again!!! Our first PaceSetters Fun Run of 2025 will be Wednesday March 12th at 6:00 pm at the Grand Chute Community Center located at 1900 W. Grand Chute Blvd, which is just NE of N. Lynndale Dr. and Hwy 41, off of W. Evergreen Dr. There will be a 5k and 10k route which will take us into beautiful Bubolz Nature Preserve. After the run there will be hot beef and chicken sandwiches. Please bring a dish to pass to supplement our meal, such as a salad, fruit, or dessert.
Our April Fun Run will be at Buffalo Wild Wings on Wednesday April 9th at 6:00 pm.
And of course, our weekly club run continues every Saturday morning at 8:00 am through the end of May, from Copper Rock Coffee at 210 W. College Ave. Come join this hearty, good-natured gang for a 10 mile run, or cut the loop shorter to suit your needs. Then stop in for a coffee and chewing of the fat.

KEYS TO HEALTHY ENJOYABLE LONGEVITY
Most runners I know or have met tend to be glass half-full type of people. They are optimists rather than pessimists and enjoy life and all the wonderments that come with it. The idea of being able to extend our life, as long as it can be lived in relative good health, is something that most of us would embrace.
For those still reading here who fall into this category, this might be just the podcast for you. Rich Roll is an accomplished ultra-endurance athlete, who became a bestselling author and wellness advocate, transforming lives through healthy eating and mental and physical training.
They say age is just a number, but perhaps aging should be viewed as more of a perspective. Aging can harden you to long-held beliefs that don’t serve you, or it can bring you wisdom. Aging can restrict your sense of possibility, or it can unlock your further potential. Aging can bring sickness, disease and suffering, or it can bring continued health, deeper fulfillment, and renewed vigor. Aging happens to everyone, but allowing it to limit you is really a choice.
Rich held a series of Longevity Masterclass podcasts on this subject, and in this episode he discusses longevity with several distinguished doctors, authors and wellness advocates. When it comes to longevity, the goal isn’t to live as long as possible, it’s to live as vibrantly and energetically as possible for as long as possible. This podcast is lengthy so you may want to tackle it over several listens, but it includes some fascinating discussion on topics such as Blue Zones, genetics, fasting, sleeping, stress, and the bizarre concept of Longevity Escape Velocity.
Clever Strava Animation
A guy from Toronto used Strava to record nearly 700 miles of his runs over a 9 month span and created this lively, creative animation. Check out this short animation here!
