GETTING TO KNOW CYNDI, OUR NEW PRESIDENT

Hello, this is Cynthia Faulkner with a few words to help explain who I am.

I am an Action Certified Personal Trainer who also has Yoga, Kettlebell, Spin, TRX, Bootcamp, Water, Facia/Foam Rolling and Barre Certifications. Adding to that…is group training. I have gait Analysis training and orthotic fit training. I have accomplished several Ironmans, Triathlons of all distances, endurance races, Marathons… from Ultras, Whole and Half’s, a Boston Marathon qualifier and all the Spartan Series including Spartan Beast! Also being an overall winner in the Community First Fox Cities Du Tri Run events.

I am CPR/AED/First Aid Certified.

I enjoy working with novice exercisers all the way to competitive athletes, and like working with all age ranges and fitness levels. Being an athlete has always been an important part of my life. I am always eager to help anyone with their fitness journey, regardless of what stage they are at. I am grateful for all I have been able to do, share and experience. I have overcome 14 surgeries along the way due to an accident I was in. I never let anyone's discouragement get in my way because I believe all things are possible, I keep the faith, a grateful heart and a positive attitude. I continue my own journey and hope to share in yours as well.

I hope to bring more unity to the Pacesetters running events and am excited to get to know all the members and their journeys!

Our next Fun Run is at Dairyland Brew Pub, 1216 E. Wisconsin Ave, Appleton, WI, on Wednesday July 13, 2022 at 6 pm. As with our other Fun Runs, there will be a 3 mile and 6 mile course option, and food and drinks will be served for participants afterwards, including FREE Spaghetti Dinner, Beer and Soda. Hope to see you there!!

REBECCA LORGE

We are sad to hear of the passing of Pacesetter member Rebecca Lorge. She ran with us so often and was such a beautiful person. Rebecca was everything Pacesetters stands for: friendly, fun, and loved to run. She always had a smile on her face even at mile 26 in a Marathon. She will be missed by so many.

ST. JOE'S 5K RUN/WALK UPDATE

Please sign up for this important community event which will be held on October 8, 2022. All proceeds are given to the St. Joe's Food Program, the largest food program in the Fox Valley. The St. Joe's Food Program touches the lives of over 5,000 people a week year-round in four local counties, Outagamie, Winnebago, Calumet and Waupaca. The Pacesetters founded this annual St. Joe's 5k run/walk and it is 100% volunteer driven. As this is our club's big annual giveback to the community event, your participation as a runner, walker or volunteer is much appreciated!

If you would like to volunteer for this event, please Contact Us.

COMMUNITY FIRST FOX CITIES MARATHON TRAINING RUNS

Just a reminder that the Pacesetters weekly training runs are underway on Saturday mornings at 7am starting and finishing at Run Away Shoes at W3192 County Rd KK (or E. Calumet St.), Appleton, WI. This is to help runners prepare for the Community First Fox Cities Marathon and Half Marathon which is held in September 2022, but anyone can join us. Distances generally increase each week, there are water/Gatorade stations out on the course, and maps are provided for both the Full and Half training routes. The weekly routes will be posted prior to that day in the Club Runs/Marathon Training Runs page of this website. This is a friendly welcoming group for runners of all abilities and speeds. There have been about 50-75 participants each week. There is a porta-potty behind Run Away Shoes.

We are extremely grateful to our sponsors who help make these runs possible.

  • Thank you Community First Credit Union, a major sponsor providing overall support
  • Thank you Dunkin', for providing us with coffee, donut holes and coupons afterwards
  • Thank you ThedaCare for providing medical support
  • Thank you Run Away Shoes for providing our meeting location and discounts for Pacesetter members

Also special thanks to Dave Bonson, Jen and Jerry for their regular water station support. We do need more captains to give up their mornings to welcome people, help with setup, and ideally stay until most people have returned. If you can help, please Contact Us.
